Homophones

Homophones are words that sound the same, but are spelt differently and have different meanings.

For example     their   there       and     they’re

All these words SOUND the same, but they are spelt differently and used in different ways.

For example;

  • They put on their shoes.
  • Look! Over there! I see a scary dog.
  • They’re not feeling well.

They’re is also a CONTRACTION

They + are  becomes they’re

Choose “they’re”, “there” or “their” to complete each sentence. Write the WHOLE sentence correctly in your book.

They’re  going on holiday tomorrow.

The bunny pushed play and started to dance on the mat. The  cat was running in a circle chasing the
bunny.  Finally the bunny escaped from the cat the cat's owner picked it up.

Volcano animation

This is my volcano animation I did four pictures in the green record screen

Volcano jigsaw

On Friday we made a volcano. This is how we made it. We cut some card board in a square and we  used a pencil to draw a volcano.  When we finished drawing with the pencil of the volcano we used a marker over the pencil. Then we painted over the marker so we painted the blue sky and the dirt and the sun on the top pieces. But then when we took the bits off it showed the volcano underneath. Here’s the parts of the volcano; ash cloud, vent, lava, side vent, magma, and magma chamber. That’s all the parts of the volcano. It showed the volcano exploding out the ash cloud and the lava.

After morning tea we did more learning then it was lunch time. During lunch we went for a bike ride. I didn’t know how to ride a bike so it was tricky. Miss Vaafusuaga is going to get me a scooter instead. Finally it was the after noon, it was almost home time.
We are the yellow bubble. It it different from normal school because there are only 8 people and everything has switched to bubble school.
